The Chirper Choir is for children ages 4 and 5. This choir begins to introduce a group dynamic as they learn to share together in worship through scriptural music. A sharing time (mini-concert) is given in the spring each year for friends and family. This group meets from 5:30-6:00 on Sunday evenings on the first floor of Building D.
CHILDREN'S CHOIRS
Beaver Dam has three children's choirs: Super Singers (for children in K-1), music Makers (for children in Grades 2-3) and Young Musicians (for children in Grades 4-5). As we continue in the spiritual development of these children, our goal is to begin to formulate a concept of worship and praise consistent with the teaching of the Bible. Building on the theme of the Preschool Choirs ("Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord"), children will begin to cultivate a structure and discipline to present to God our best in living and praise. All three choirs meet on the 2nd floor of Building D from 5:30-6:15 PM on sundays during the school year.
SUPER SINGERS

MUSIC MAKERS CHOIR
This choir is for students in Grades 2-3. The Music Makers sing in the evening worship service at various scheduled times during the year as well as an occasional Sunday monring for a special event. In addition, a children's musical is presented by the combimed Children's Choirs (Grades 2-5) every spring. This choir meets on the 2nd floor of Building D on Sunday evenings from 5:30-6:15.
YOUNG MUSICIANS
This choir is for children in Grades 4-5. The Young Musicians sing in the evening worship service at various scheduled times during the year as well as an occasional Sunday morning for a special event. In addition, a children's musical is presented by the combined Children's Choirs (Grades 2-5) every spring. While we do not expect every child to become a musician, we strive to help every child become a worshiper. It is also our prayer that the love of jesus and His provision of salvation may be introduced to each child through study of the Scripture, both in the Bible and in songs. This choir meets on the 2nd floor of Building D from 5:30-6:15 PM on Sundays during the school year.
YOUTH CHOIR
Youth Choir is for students in Grades 6-12. This choir sings in the evening worship service on a fairly regular basis, usually two or three times a semester. These students prepare two youth choir musicals each year - one for the Christmas season and one in the spring at the end of the school year. The Youth Choir provides opportunity for young people to learn about worship - who God is, why we worship, how we should worship and, especially, how worship should be a lifestyle, not just an event. The Youth Choir is also involved in ministry beyond the BDBC campus. On alternate years, they attend "The Youth Project" on the Carson Newman campusand are involved in summer events such as "SonPower" and mission trips. Their signature verse is Psalm 33:3: "Sing to the Lord a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy." During the school year, this choir meets on Sundays from 5:30-6:20 in the choir room below the Sanctuary in Building C.
YOUTH PRAISE BAND
The Youth Praise Band regularly prepares worship music for the Wednesday evening youth program. They often accompany the Youth Choir in corporate music presentations and lead in Sunday evening worship services 3-4 times a year. In addition to learning praise and worship music, there is a strong focus on Biblical principles of personal worship and musical skills. Members must be regular members and contributors to the Youth Choir program (and the youth program in general) and are selected by audition and invitation.
ADULT WORSHIP CHOIR
The Worship Choir is not an auditioned group; every adult from college age on is encouraged to joing the Worship Choir. We strive to share with all congregants that we should not go to church to worship but live our worship and go to church worshiping! It is our focus to prepare musically with great detail and proficiency, and then present that offering of music with great humility and heart remembering I Samuel 16:7 - "For God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
This choir is charged with the responsibility of worship leadership every Sunday morning and some Sunday evenings as well as numerous special worship events such as Christmas and Easter. As adults, we are urged to become worshipers, not just singers, understanding that worship is an "attitude of the heart, not a musical style." We believe and strive to practice Colossians 3:16: "Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God."
The Worship Choir meets for rehearsal every Wednesday at 7:15 PM (after the Wednesday prayer service). The choir rehearsal room is immediately below the sanctuary choir loft in building C.
ADULT PRAISE ENSEMBLE
This group is made up of active Worship Choir members. The ensemble sings a variety of music styles in different worship services. The group is often used as a traditional praise team, leading the congregation in hymns and praise songs. In addition, the group sometimes sings as an ensemble, presenting specific numbers without choir or congregation. No autidion is required; however, an interview process is necessary and singers must be able to sing from memory. This group is encouraged to think and act as servant leaders in the worship setting as well as in their daily lives. Psalm 149:1: "Praise ye the Lord. sing unto the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the saints." The Adult Praise Ensemble rehearses every Wednesday from 6:30-7:15 PM in the Ensemble room (Building C).
HANDBELL CHOIRS
Since its inception, the handbell ministry has become a special feature in our worship times. Beaver Dam has two Handbell groups - the Joyful ringers Handbell Choir (Beginning handbells) and The Hands of Praise bell choir (advanced)
HANDS OF PRAISE HANDBELLS
This adult group often accompanies the choir and combined choirs in addition to preparing worship music for several Sunday mornings during the year. they often present special music at Christmas and Easter. Perhaps more than any other musical group, this ensemble must show greater unity and teamwork as they share their musical offering together. Colossians 3:14: "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
This group is open to all adults by interview/audition. They meet for rehearsal every Wednesday evening at 5:30 PM throughout the school year.

They been involved in state-wide events and regional Tune-Shares and has traveled to many other churches to share their heart-felt messages in song with other senior adult groups. They lead in worship on several occasions during the year and usually present complete musical programs twice yearly.
