Everyone at Beaver Dam Baptist Church is encouraged to be an active participant in Martha’s Ministry.

Martha’s Ministry will provide a meal for the family of a deceased church member, spouse or children. All of

those involved in the ministry will be blessed as we reach out in love and kindness to those who are hurting.

The ministry will prepare and serve a complete meal for a family and their guests, either before receiving of

friend, or before or after the graveside service. The meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall at the church or

taken to the home if the family so desires.

The ministries organizer will be notified by the church when a death occurs. She will then contact the family

to see if they would like a meal provided and if so find out the date and time. If the family wants a meal she

will contact the volunteers with the details of the luncheon.

They can choose to provide one of the following items:

  • cans of green beans (amount will be determined on the size of family being served)

  • party sized macaroni and cheese

  • cans of corn (amount will be determined on the size of family being served)

  • rolls

  • salad

  • dessert

The meat is provided by Martha’s Ministry. We try to keep the cost under $10 per person. Volunteers will

also be contacted to help in setting tables, warming and serving the meal and cleaning up when the meal is

served at BDBC.

It may not be possible to provide a meal during the following holidays: New Years, Good Friday, Easter,

Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, July 4 th , Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

because volunteers may not be available due to their family obligations. Or any time there is a previously

scheduled church wide event that would preclude the use of the facilities.

Please call Katie Green or Janice Moore in the church office (922-2322) to sign up to help with this ministry.

Lord, give me sensitivity to people in their grief and pain,to weep with them and show Your love in ways mere words cannot attain.
